Multi-site fire protection for premises pending cladding replacement

Choice Fire is working on behalf of a major UK property sales, letting and management company to provide wireless, temporary residential fire detection systems in high-rise blocks where existing exterior cladding requires scheduled replacement as a consequence of the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire. The total project value to date is circa £1m. These monitored fire systems have been deemed to be more reliable and cost-effective than the use of ‘waking watchmen’ to patrol the entirety of these premises 24/7. Read more...

During 2020 British Telecommunications has begun vigorously pursuing its goal to convert its entire traditional UK public telephone (PSTN) network to an internet protocol (IP) based system – known as the All IP project – by 2025. This process has important consequences for businesses and homes which use telephone network-based monitoring of security (intruder alarm/access control/CCTV) and fire alarm systems connected to alarm receiving centres. Choice’s preferred third-party monitoring services partner, Yeoman Monitoring Services, has commenced rebranding its identity and logo to align within its Europe-wide parent business, Scutum Group, under the name Scutum Digital. This transition in no way alters service provision by the Monitoring Centre/ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre) facility or Choice customers’ communications regarding security and fire system monitoring services – all contact numbers, logons, passwords etc are unaffected.
