New duties for Responsible Persons
From 23rd January 2023, as a result of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 1 report, new/revised fire safety guidance will come into effect in England, reflecting a change in the law. ‘Responsible persons’ of multi-occupied high-rise buildings, plus those over 11m in height and even low-rise (with two or more sets of domestic premises) – will have new duties to provide additional safety measures which may include providing incident planning and building fabric information to Fire and Rescue Services and communicating various information to building occupiers.
