Choice provides CCTV, Access Control & Intruder Detection
As part of a major expansion, the European automotive distribution specialist First Line Ltd, has moved to a new bespoke 130,000sqft distribution warehouse adjacent to the M40 in Banbury. With the new site covering such a vast area, security systems that were capable of monitoring all areas of the site were required. Choice was selected to design and install CCTV, access control and intruder detection and alarm systems capable of meeting the demands of the new site.
Choice installed a high definition IP-based CCTV system providing interior and exterior coverage for the entire site. The system required the new IT infrastructure, installed throughout building. It consists of 40 Avigilon high definition dome cameras that are recorded centrally onto servers.
An access control system was required to not only secure and restrict access to sensitive areas but also with the ability to produce time & attendance reports. The access control system will also be used in the event of a fire as a roll-call register and, on such an event, the system automatically sends the roll call report to a networked printer.
The intruder alarm installation needed to be designed so that the devices would not be easily damaged as pallets are delivered and moved around the warehouse. The system also needed to comply with the insurance company’s stringent specification. The system’s communication is via a Grade 4 IP/GPRS signalling device, this allows Choice to remotely manage the system 24/7 should there be any issues on site.
